Prayer WORKS!!!

Okay... so today was a VERY CRAZY DAY!!! and in all my craziness.... I LOST MY CELL PHONE (of course the battery was dead so I couldn't call it)!!!!!!!!!! My day started with... cooking over 5 doz eggs and sausage for Alan's seminary class (they hit their reading goal and he owed them breakfast), getting kids out the door for school, Blake to preschool by 9, running to Winslow for a Walmart shopping trip, getting back by 11 to get Blake from school, cleaning out the car, picking up kids by 12:20 (early out today for parent teacher conf.), oops - not feeding Alan lunch (hopefully he ate something), helping Kaylee perfect her magic tricks and make pumpkin cupcakes for the achievement day talent show, going to 2 parent teacher conferences, then having a talent show for achievement days.... Somewhere between shopping at walmart and picking up the kids... I LOST MY PHONE! Tonight after Bunco, I PRAYED and PRAYED and PRAYED and PRAYED.... this is what I did...

I PRAYED.... I really really really needed to find my phone

I Cleaned my Yukon again!!!

I Prayed again... trying to think where I last had my phone...

I dug thru YUCKY-STINKY trash - not once but TWICE thinking maybe I threw it away when I cleaned my Yucon the first time!

FINALLY, After SEVERAL more prayers.... I found it! It was in the Yukon in a side compartment on the passanger side... I have NO IDEA how it got there!

NOW.... I think I'll go pray again... just to say THANKS for helping me find it! Prayer REALLY DOES WORK!!!!!!!

(Just a little note.... I have the BEST family in the WORLD!!! This day was crazy, but thanks to a great husband and Kids... I am going to bed now with a (mostly) clean house (they cleaned up while I was at Bunco) and a feeling of relief that the day is over but also i'm just happy - I might somedays have a very busy crazy life (like we all do)- but what I have most is a wonderful life!

Achievement Day Talent Show

I am one of our Wards Achievement day Leaders... I love it! We have such a great group of about 15-18 girls that come every other week. Today we did a talent show.. the girls were so so cute. I was proud of Kaylee... she chose to show 2 magic tricks and then she baked pumpkin cupcakes to share with everyone as her talent. Kaylee is a very talented and sweet girl and I love her! I am so happy that I can get to go to achievement days with her!
Workin' hard on her Pumpkins...

CUTE....

They not only looked good, but tasted YUMMY!

Performing her magic...

End of the Quarter... AND ALL MADE HONOR ROLL!!!

Bryson and Kaylee came home from school today... both EXCITED!!!! Yip, they both made honor roll. I just came back from visiting with their teachers and all they said were POSITIVE things about our kids! I'm such a proud mom right now! GREAT JOB Bryson and Kaylee!!! We LOVE YOU!!!!!

FUN ON THE FARM...

YEE HA COWBOY...

For several days, Blake begged his Dad to let him ride and rope. The week was a crazy one, so finally on Friday, he got his wish! He wanted to rope a real cow on OREO not a fake dummy cow. It was a very windy day or else he would have worn his new Cowboy hat Dad just bought him. Watch the video to see how he did... Kaylee also took the time to do a little training on Chip - she did prity darn good!

Fun Family trip to Flag...

Monday was a holiday so we decided it would be fun to just get away for the day as a family. Something we TOTALLY TREASURE! We headed to Flagstaff on Sunday evening (after Alan was finished playing' Bishop) and stayed the night at Grandpa and Grandma's - of course they spoiled us rotten and we loved visiting! The next day after running a few errands, we headed to the Flagstaff new Aquaplex - it was so so so FUN! and if it was so so so COLD (outside)... or you would have pictures, but I didn't want to run back to the car to get the camera... so I'll just write about it. The place had a little lazy river, vortex area, 2 big slides and a zero depth area with little slides and fun toy for the smaller kids. All our kids loved it - Kaci loved the water and I think Blake went down the little slides 100 plus times. The big kids of course loved the faster slides and the vortex (whirlpool). The water was nice and warm so we stayed for a good long while. My favorite was relaxing' in the hot tub - kissing' my husband in the pool and of course... just watching' my kids have fun! We will DEFINITELY go back again!

VOTE YES!!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 10, 2008

YES on Prop 102/YESforMarriage.com Response to Connecticut Supreme Court Ruling

CT RULING SHOWS WHY VOTING YES ON PROP 102 CRITICAL IN ARIZONA
The Connecticut Supreme Court today overturned that state’s law defining marriage only as the union of one man and one woman. Connecticut now joins Massachusetts and California on the list of states that have had judges by a one-vote margin redefine marriage for the entire state.
Yes on Prop 102 spokesperson, Kelly Molique, said the CT decision shows the importance of passing the marriage amendment in Arizona this November. “The Connecticut ruling further illustrates why Arizona needs Proposition 102’s 20 simple and clear words added to the Arizona Constitution,” Molique said. “As the Connecticut ruling shows, it’s easy for activist judges and politicians to overturn existing marriage laws. The only way to prevent that from happening is to amend the constitution by passing Prop 102.”
Prop 102 reads:
“Only a union of one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state.”
“By voting yes on Prop 102, Arizonans can decide the future of marriage rather than leave the definition vulnerable to redefinition by judges or politicians,” said Molique.

A Yummy Yummy Funny Lunch...

Kelli and Kalynn are over today playing so for lunch I fixed them something special...OCTOPUS AND SEAWEED! When I announced what I was planning on cooking - Blake and Kelli were a little nervous (they actually begged for mac n cheese) - but were so excited after they saw what it was. Take a look for yourself!

Best Friends and Cousins!

KK thought it was YUMMY!

Just in case you want to give it a try...

The seaweed (ramen noodles) is normally green - but since i was out of green food coloring we have brown. Just add the food coloring to the water when you cook the noodles. To make the octopus - use hotdogs that are still half way frozen (it makes it easier to cut) then on about 3/4 of the hotdog (long ways) - cut it like a pie to make the 8 legs. When you boil them in a big pot - the legs will flip out to make it look like an octopus. I usually use mustard or ketcup for the eyes. I use to make this for my older kids when they were little and they would beg for it. Today was Blake's first time.

A great FHE lesson

Okay... I just have to brag about my daughter! Kaylee gave the BEST FHE lesson Monday night on the Holy Ghost. She had taken time to prepare, had us look up scriptures, used object lessons, etc... Great job Kaylee!

A BIG BIG Night for Kaci...

FINALLY!!!! Kaci actually slept the entire night (till 6:30 AM) without waking up!!!! YEAH!!! Can you tell I'm excited? The crazy thing, I actually woke up 3 times in the night just to check on her. I was sure something was wrong - but - she was just sleeping! The last couple of days she has learned to SORT OF take a bottle - maybe that is helping her sleep. When I woke Kaylee this morning for school - I told her that Kaci had something really exciting happen and that she had slept all night- she looked at me and said Mom - that's exciting for YOU! It is exciting for me - I just hope it keeps up. Gotta have FAITH it well!

The End of F-ball Season...

Today, Bryson played his last F-ball game of his 6th grade year. The season was tough on the team - but they learned a lot and seemed to have fun. He turns in his pads tomorrow then a Pizza Party on Thursday.... He can't wait for the PIZZA!

A Friend MOVES AWAY....

Kaylee and Kinzy
Last week, Kaylee had her best friend move away. The Friday before she left they enjoyed some time together... they ate their farewell dinner at Mr G's Pizza place. They have been great friends for 8 years now. Hopefully they can keep their friendship goin' with emails, etc...

General Conference

Listen to the Prophet.... He knows the way!!!!

Saturday and Sunday we had the opportunity to listen to General Conference! I love it! It makes me feel good and gives me such a desire to TRY MORE and BE BETTER! I loved the quote from President Monson "Enjoy the Journey NOW"!!!! What great advice! We are so blessed to have a Prophet on the Earth today to lead us and guide us!

Homecoming 2008

Today was Joseph City Wildcats Homecoming! We won our f-ball game against Williams tonight - what a great game. Many of our key players are hurt - but our younger kids really stepped up to the plate and did well. Each year after homecoming (after the dance) we have had the tradition to have all the high school students over to our home for desert waffles... YUMMY! This was our 8th year of doing so. Last night we had over 100 kids here - it was great fun. We had several adults kind enough to come help cook till 1:30 in the morinin' - thanks to all of them everything went really well. It's funny.... 8 years ago we invited everyone to stay till 3 am - each year we have ended earlier and earlier - I think we've just got smarter or older and can't handle staying up so late anymore. All the kids that came were great - very polite and appreciative! Joseph City has some great kids! I'm glad we live here! Our kids even stayed up to the very end!

What a fun night!

We didn't get a picture of all of our kitchen help - but we sure APPRECIATED everyone that helped!

Okay... so FINALLY at 1:30 am Dad told Blake he needed to goto bed...OF COURSE he DIDN'T want to so dad asked him to PLEASE go and lay in our bed to save it for him.. Blake was willing to watch the bed to make sure no one else climbed in but he didn't want to lay in it (in fear that he would actually fall asleep) so he watched from our bedroom floor. 2 MINUTES later this is what we found... He was asleep in this position still on the floor. SO SO SO CUTE!!!

GOLD!!!

Okay... so not really, but it cost about as much as gold. Workin' on our years supply of HAY for our animals. Blake is dad right hand man - such a good helper.
